IG Molecular Sieve

Insulated Glass Desiccant · IG Desiccant

IG Molecular Sieve (Insulated Glass Molecular Sieve) is a dedicated desiccant for insulated glass, also called IG Desiccant or Insulated Glass Desiccant. Filled into compatible spacers, it adsorbs moisture in the sealed cavity to help reduce internal fogging and condensation.

Spacer filling & moisture adsorption

Moisture in the sealed cavity reaches the molecular sieve through spacer perforations. Adsorption helps keep the cavity dry and reduces the risk of internal condensation.

Performance depends on sealing, desiccant loading and production conditions. External surface condensation is a separate issue.

Application overview

IG stands for Insulated Glass. IG Molecular Sieve and IG Desiccant describe the material and its drying function: the same product, not two separate product lines.

An IG-suitable 3A molecular sieve is typically used. A general-purpose 3A designation alone does not establish suitability for insulated glass production.

Share spacer dimensions, filling equipment, particle-size requirements and packaging needs to discuss moisture adsorption, dust and compatibility requirements.

The desiccant controls moisture inside the sealed cavity. Performance also depends on sealing, loading and production practice; it does not prevent condensation on exterior glass surfaces.
